Mar. 2, 2016 (Mimesis Law) — Few cases in recent memory have taken as many bizarre twists as the case of Shannon Miles, who stands accused of the murder of Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Darren Goforth on August 28, 2015. Deputy Goforth was shot fifteen times as he was walking to his patrol car at a gas station, and there was no apparent motive for it. It only gets weirder from there. Nov. 26, 2015 - A Michigan jury convicted former Inkster cop William Melendez of misconduct in office and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Patrol dash cam footage showed Melendez repeatedly punching unarmed motorist Floyd Dent during a traffic stop in January. Melendez will be sentenced on December 3.
